The Homeschool Curriculum Fair has a veritable history in the memory of homeschoolers in Singapore. From meeting in person from a condo function to commercial halls, we embraced the online model because of Covid-19 restrictions in 2020. This year, the Curriculum Fair evolves once again, as the Homeschool Convention presents its Asia Edition.

Background
“The Homeschool Curriculum Fair is an annual event of the local (Singapore) homeschool community that goes back more than ten years. Then, homeschool mums brought their books, stood by their humble displays and shared their knowledge.”
Shan Chua, Curriculum Fair Director, 2017
The Homeschool Curriculum Fair has a veritable history in the memory of homeschoolers in Singapore. The Homeschool Curriculum Fair became part of the Homeschool Convention 2017 as a staple program. From meeting in person from a condo function to commercial halls, we embraced the online model because of Covid-19 restrictions in 2020. Since then, the Homeschool Curriculum Fair has been held online for the convenience of all.
The culture of the Homeschool Curriculum Fair, unlike other countries, follows the way the homeschooling culture in Singapore is organised: semi-casual, non-commercial and buzzy with activities. The vendors who have joined us at the Curriculum Fairs since 2017 also attest to the warmth of the event atmosphere.
In line with keeping tradition, our curriculum booth fees for the Homeschool Curriculum Fair are kept very low to ensure everyone can take part. The funds have been used to run the annual Homeschool Convention to help promote homeschooling and other alternative forms of education. The teams running the Homeschool Conventions are volunteers.
From 2022, the Homeschool Convention comes under the purview of the Homeschool Alumni SG and its parent company, Arcuate Collective, created by homeschool alumni in Singapore. View the archives of past Curriculum Fair for context, history and information.
Vision
In keeping with the renewed vision for the convention, the Homeschool Curriculum Fair will be undergoing several significant changes.
Latitude
We are expanding the fair to include homeschoolers and commercial vendors in the Asia region. While the pandemic has complicated travel across physical borders, digital technology allows us to traverse these limitations and continue a healthy exchange of ideas. This way, we can garner a wider offering of curricula to be presented and discussed.
Legacy
This year, we are requesting that Booth Vendors share pre-reading materials to help the participants optimise their experience as they navigate their way through the different presentation slots on the event day. Participants will then have enough preliminary information to understand what the vendors are offering and why they want to meet the vendors to know more and ask questions. All these materials will be made freely available on the HomeschoolSingapore website for longevity.
Our Commitment
Our mission would be to curate and bring to you vendors that are highly recommended amongst the homeschooling community, as well as companies that uphold holistic quality education for children.
Quality is important to us. Homeschoolers pride themselves on teaching their own and keeping a curious lookout for good products and services for academic and life skills. While our fees are kept low, we strive for high standards. The Homeschool Curriculum Fair seeks to be a reputable event that offers a variety of curricula and approaches for teaching and learning.
We look forward to having you attend the event!
